Compact laser diode system offers exceptional stability
Southampton, UK, 22 Jan 07: New from Point Source is the iFLEX Q3 compact laser diode system for precision optical instrumentation in the biotechnology and semiconductor sectors.
The iFLEX Q3 sets a new standard in laser diodes with its exceptional brightness, stability and long-term reliability in such a small unit. The highly polarized beam makes this a good choice for scatter and reflection-based measurement, and optical media inspection.
Equipment manufacturers will particularly appreciate the versatility of the small form laser head (approx 58 x 36 x 23mm) and remote electronics module (126 x 81 x 30mm) which are designed for easy integration.
iFLEX Q3 has a diffraction-limited collimated output beam with active temperature control to ensure the stability of the wavelength to with ±5nm . A closed-loop control system ensures long term power stability (less than two per cent over eight hours) with low amplitude noise (less than one per cent rms).
The new module is available in 375 and 405nm wavelength versions as standard; although other wavelengths can be offered as custom versions. All models feature an interlock and output diagnostics for laser current and temperature as standard.
