New unique test function allows fast, simultaneous testing on the same link

Global manufacturer and supplier of advanced cable testing and certification equipment, Ideal Industries, has added a new, patented DUALmode™ test function to its popular LANTEK® range of LAN cable certifiers. The unique DUALmode function saves users time and money by performing two tests simultaneously on the same link with no increase in test time. DUALmode comes as standard on all new LANTEK 6 and LANTEK 7G certifiers and is also available as a free firmware upgrade to all registered LANTEK customers.

Ideal’s exclusive DUALmode capability allows two different tests to be performed simultaneously on the same cable, such as Cat 6 versus ISO-E, Cat 6 versus Cat 6a (draft), or Cat 6 Permanent link versus Cat 6 Channel. A single push of the Autotest button is all that is required to display both sets of measurement results. This benefits LANTEK users through labour cost savings gained by eliminating the need to retest links to different LAN cable certification standards. DUALmode testing takes the same amount of time as a single test.

Ideal’s LANTEK testers are purpose-built for network installation and troubleshooting in copper and fibre environments. The new LANTEK 7G is the world’s first LAN certifier capable of measuring bandwidth of up to 1GHz, enabling it to test ISO F, Category 6a/7 and beyond. The LANTEK 6 is a fully compliant Category 6/ISO E cable tester with a frequency range up to 350MHz.

LANTEK also allows users to make cost savings through its unique adapter-less design, which enables testing with standard patchcords. This feature reduces the unit's lifetime cost of ownership because users need only replace patch cords, rather than the entire link assembly. Because there are no bulky adapters extending from the unit, it is user-friendly and compact.
