Fordway takes on major players in NHS Additional Supply, Capability and Capacity (ASCC) framework
11th
August 2008 - UK ICT infrastructure specialist Fordway is proud to announce
that it has been appointed to the National Health Service’s Additional
Supply Capability and Capacity framework. Fordway was accredited as one
of only 38 officially approved IT systems suppliers for the National Programme
for IT (NPfIT) and wider IT-based projects in the NHS.
Fordway has been approved under the categories of Network Infrastructure
Services, Other Hardware Services and Consultancy as a result of its extensive
experience and proven capabilities in these areas.
The accreditation places Fordway in direct competition for NHS contracts
with companies including British Telecom, Fujitsu Services and Hewlett Packard.
Fordway’s managing director Richard Blanford is untroubled by such
competition, “The inclusion of Fordway in this framework is an acknowledgement
from the NHS that sometimes the larger suppliers are not best placed to
understand their complex needs and that an independent specialist like Fordway
can provide a far more effective IT solution”.
Recent examples of Fordway’s work with NHS Trusts, which were instrumental
in securing the accreditation, include successful projects with the Countess
of Chester Acute Trust and Hammersmith and Fulham Primary Care Trust. In
both Fordway provided server and data storage consolidation that significantly
reduced the complexity and cost of managing their IT infrastructure, significantly
improving the performance and resilience whilst ensuring considerably faster
system recovery times.
Fordway is a leading UK supplier of IT and network infrastructure, services
and expert consultancy. Fordway has been operating since 1991 and has offices
in Surrey and Shropshire. For more information please visit Fordway’s
