Edwards installs its first new generation steel degassing system in India
CRAWLEY,
UK (14 October 2009) - Edwards has won an order worth more than £200,000
for its new generation steel degassing system in India. This is the first
system of its kind in the country and has been installed at Shyam Forgings
Pvt in New Delhi. It is being used to perform Vacuum Oxygen Decarburizing
(VOD) in a production environment and offers potential energy cost savings
of more than 90 per cent over traditional steam ejector systems.
The single steel degassing module is being used to run the Vacuum Degassing (VD) and VOD processes to produce large degassed and decarburized castings of up to 30 tons for Shyam Forging's customers. The customers then use the castings to produce large machinery components for the power generation and industrial markets across Asia.
Both ultra low carbon steels and low carbon stainless steels (< 0.02% carbon) are processed through the VOD system in up to 13 ton melts for subsequent casing and machining at customers’ facilities.
Edwards' dry pumping technology enables users to produce higher quality products with significantly reduced operating/energy costs. At the same time customers are able to improve their environmental impact and carbon footprint through reducing CO2 emissions, water effluent and energy use.
"Global demand for steel is growing rapidly and we are delighted to have completed our first commercial VOD processing installation in India," says, Vikrant Sanglikar, Country Head - South Asia, Edwards. "The successful demonstration of this vacuum decarburizing process using our dry pumping systems will allow us to confidently move forward into the larger VOD based process applications and address a growing market need."
"The Edwards system was installed after extensive product and preproduction testing at our plant throughout the year and we are very impressed with the results so far," explains Nitin Agrawal, Managing Director, Shyam Forging. "We're now able to produce higher quality steels and in larger quantities to better serve our customers."

Premier système Edwards de nouvelle génération pour le dégazage de l'acier en Inde
CRAWLEY,
UK (12 Novembre 2009) - Edwards a obtenu une commande de plus de 200 000
€, en Inde, pour son nouveau système de dégazage de l'acier.
Il s'agit du premier système de ce type dans ce pays et il a été
installé à la société Shyam Forgings Pvt à
New Delhi. Il est utilisé en production pour la Décarburation
par Oxygène sous Vide (VOD) et procure des économies potentielles
d'énergie de plus de 90% par rapport aux systèmes traditionnels
d'éjecteurs à vapeur.
Ce module de dégazage de l'acier est utilisé dans les procédés de Dégazage sous Vide (VD) et de Décarburation par Oxygène sous Vide (VOD) pour la production de quantités d'acier dégazées et décarburées pouvant atteindre 30 tonnes pour les clients de Shyam Forging. Ces clients utilisent ensuite l'acier pour la fabrication de grands composants pour des machines destinées à la production d'énergie et à d'autres applications industrielles en Asie.
Des aciers ultra-bas carbone ainsi que des aciers bas carbone (< 0.02% en carbone) sont traités par le système VOD, jusqu'à des charges de 13 tonnes, pour être ensuite usinés sur les sites des clients.
La technologie de pompage sec Edwards permet d'obtenir des produits de meilleure qualité tout réalisant de substantielles économies sur le coût de production et la consommation d'énergie. Les utilisateurs sont également en mesure d'améliorer leur impact sur l'environnement et leur empreinte carbone en réduisant leurs émissions de CO2, leur production d'effluents aqueux et leur consommation d'énergie.
" La demande globale d'acier croît rapidement et nous sommes heureux d'avoir pu réaliser notre première installation commerciale de traitement VOD en Inde" nous a confié Vikrant Sanglikar, Responsable pays pour l'Asie du Sud chez Edwards. Inbetriebnahme der ersten Edwards Stahlentgasungsanlage neuester Generation in Indien

UK (12. November 2009) - Edwards hat einen Auftrag im Wert von EUR 200.000
über eine Stahlentgasungsanlage neuester Generation in Indien gewonnen.
Diese Anlage ist die erste ihrer Art im Lande und wurde in Shyam Forgings
Pvt in Neu Delhi installiert. Sie wird unter Produktionsbedingungen zur
Sauerstoff-Entkohlung unter Vakuum (VOD) eingesetzt und bietet über
90% Kostenersparnis gegenüber traditionellen Anlagen mit Dampfstrahlern.
Das Stahlentgasungs-Modul verwendet die Verfahren der Vakuumentgasung und des VOD um bis zu 30 Tonnen an entgasten und kohlefreien Gussstahl für Shyam Forgings Kunden herzustellen. Diese verwenden das Produkt wiederum zur Fertigung großer Maschinenteile für Kraftwerke und andere industrielle Märkte in ganz Asien.
Sowohl extrem kohlenstoffarme als auch kohlenstoffarme (< 0,02% Kohlenstoff) Stähle werden in der VOD-Anlage in Schmelzen bis zu 13 Tonnen erzeugt, zum späteren formen und zur Maschinenbearbeitung in den Werken der Kunden.
Die Trockenpumpen-Technologie von Edwards ermöglicht es dem Kunden, Produkte höherer Qualität bei deutlich reduzierten Betriebs- und Energiekosten zu erzeugen. Gleichzeitig können die Anwender schädliche Umwelteinflüsse reduzieren und den „Carbon Footprint" mittels Reduzierung von CO2 -Emission, Wasser- und Energieverbrauch vermindern.
"Der weltweite Bedarf an Stahl wächst rapide, und wir freuen uns, die erste VOD-Anlage in Indien plaziert zu haben," sagt Vikrant Sanglikar, Vertriebsleiter Südasien bei Edwards. Edwards installa in India il primo sistema di nuova generazione per il degasaggio dell'acciaio
CRAWLEY,
UK (12 Novembre 2009) - La Edwards ha ottenuto un ordine del valore superiore
alle EUR 200,000 per un sistema di nuova generazione per il degasaggio dell'acciaio
sotto vuoto in India. Questo è il primo sistema del suo genere nel
paese ed è stato installato alla Shyam Forgings Pvt a New Delhi.
E' stato messo in esercizio per un processo industiale di Decarburizzazione
con ossigeno sotto vuoto (VOD) offrendo un potenziale risparmio energetico
di più del 90 per cento rispetto ai sistemi tradizionali ad eiettore
di vapore.
Un unico modulo a tre stadi di pompe meccaniche è stato installato sia per il processo VD che per il VOD per la produzione di acciai degassati o decarburizzati in fusioni fino a 30 tons per i clienti della Shyam Forgings. I principali prodotti finali sono componenti meccanici di grosse dimensioni per I mercati di "Power Generation" e industria pesante nel mercato Asiatico.
Il processo di VOD applicato a colate fino al massimo di 13 Ton prevede la produzione sia di acciai "ultra low carbon" sia di acciai inox "low carbon" (< 0.02%) in lingotti pronti per le lavorazioni finali presso i clienti.
Grazie all'utilizzo delle pompe meccaniche a secco Edwards, i nostril clienti sono in grado di produrre acciai di alta qualità con un risparmio significativo dei costi di gestione; migliorando allo stesso tempo l'impatto ambientale (carbon footprint) dei loro impianti grazie alla riduzione delle emissioni di CO2 , delle acque reflue e del consumo energetico totale.
"La domanda globale di acciaio si sta riprendendo velocemente e noi siamo fieri di aver completato la prima installazione industriale per il processo VOD in India," ha detto Vikrant Sanglikar, Country Head - South Asia, Edwards. "Aver provato con successo la funzionalità dei nostril sistemi di pompaggio a secco per la decarburizzazione sotto vuoto in questo impianto ci consente oggi di espandere con sicurezza la nostra proposta a impianti VOD di maggiore dimensione al fine di soddisfare la crescente domanda del mercato."
"Il sistema della Edwards è stato messo in servizio dopo una estesa serie di test di pre-produzione e produzione nel nostro impianto nel corso dell'anno, e noi siamo molto soddisfatti dei risultati ottenuti ad oggi", ha spiegato Nitin Agrawal, Managing Director, Shyam Forging. "Siamo ora in grado di produrre acciai di migliore qualità e in maggior quantità per soddisfare la richiesta dei nostril clienti."
