Case Study – Perpetuum
Launching a new major new enabling technology
Perpetuum is a VC-backed technology spin out from Southampton University. The company has developed a vibration energy-harvesting microgenerator - the first practicable, proven and available solution of its kind.
Freshwater Technology was asked to handle the press launch targeting electronics OEMs and end-users in the condition monitoring market.
Response:
Research showed widely varying levels of knowledge among target press, so a series of one to one press meetings was arranged in the first instance. This was followed by a press day at a trial site in Yorkshire to demonstrate the technology in action.
Results:
The Perpetuum launch achieved considerable coverage in all the top target press including front page Electronics Weekly, lead story on EE Times and a full-page feature in The Engineer. It has been extensively covered in UK and USA design engineering and electronics titles. As a result, Perpetuum has received multiple enquires from significant potential customers around the world.
