Public relations is responsible for the communication between an organisation and its key stakeholders. In the technical arena, this includes communications relating to products and technologies as well as the corporate values of the organisation. The following notes provide an introduction to the discipline of public relations, its function and the deliverables that you can expect from it. They give guidance on choosing and briefing a consultancy, and the objectives and the tactics of a public relations campaign.
